As Director of Crisis Group’s Asia Program, Pierre Prakash supports the organisation’s research, analysis, and policy advocacy about and in the region. He joined Crisis Group in August 2019.

Professional Background

Pierre has been working in Asia for close to 20 years. Trained as a journalist, he started his career as a foreign correspondent for French media in India, also covering Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. He subsequently shifted to the aid sector, joining the European Union’s Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO), first in New Delhi covering South Asia, and then in Bangkok, covering the entire Asia Pacific region.
