As a Geospatial Researcher, David’s responsibilities include running monthly routines for EEARTH’s data analytics, optimising EEARTH’s quantitative monitoring processes, and supporting the building of internal data capacities for research.

Professional Background

Before joining Crisis Group, David worked with Farmer’s Choice Limited as a GIS specialist intern. In that role, he led the collection and analysis of forestry data for carbon stock estimation. Before that, David interned at Kenya’s Ministry of Land and Physical Planning as a GIS trainee, supporting the development of Kenya’s digital cadastre. Additionally, he volunteers as a mapper for OpenStreetMap and the Kenya Red Cross Societies, providing map data to support anticipatory actions in flood-prone areas of Kenya.
