European officials sent a letter to the U.S. asserting that they "are committed to undertaking strong efforts to continue sanctions relief to Iran in order to uphold our commitments to the JCPoA for as long as Iran remains in compliance with its requirements". They added that "we expect that the extraterritorial effects of U.S. secondary sanctions will not be enforced on EU entities and individuals".
